WPHF Treats Partner Organizations to Interactive Food Is Health Experiences

In May, the Winter Park Health Foundation hosted complimentary culinary education workshops for two of our community impact partners: New Hope for Kids and Grace Medical Home.

Each event featured a local culinary expert who led participants through an engaging cooking demonstration offering the opportunity to learn practical cooking techniques, explore healthy plant-based recipes, and discover how nutritious ingredients can be transformed into flavorful dishes.

Certified nutrition consultant Sarah Santa taught New Hope for Kids board members how to prepare a fresh mango vinaigrette, showcasing how wholesome summer ingredients can be combined to create versatile dressings that elevate everyday meals.

Chef Hari Pulapaka, Senior Culinary Director at 4Roots Farm, guided Grace Medical Home team members through the preparation of a farro salad with charred vegetables and lemon-thyme tahini, as well as roasted sweet potato discs topped with strawberries, feta, and a basil emulsion.

Both sessions highlighted creative ways to incorporate nutrient-rich ingredients into meals without sacrificing flavor.

Beyond providing grants to help advance their missions, WPHF is proud to fund opportunities and experiences that show we do not just invest in our partners’ work. We are also invested in their wellbeing.
