The Winter Park Health Foundation proudly congratulates Winter Park High School senior Margaret “Maggie” McMillen, the 2025 recipient of the Tori Sheahan Kindness and Compassion Award.
This award honors the memory of Tori Sheahan, a beloved nurse practitioner who devoted her career to caring for students at Glenridge Middle School and the wider community before her sudden passing from a heart attack in 2015.
Tori’s dedication and warmth left a lasting impact on countless children’s lives.
To honor her legacy, the Winter Park Health Foundation established this $1,000 annual scholarship through a memorial fund at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools.
Maggie, this year’s scholarship recipient, is recognized by her school counselors, teachers and mentor as tenacious, kind and empathetic. A founding member of her school’s Neuroscience Club, as well as a dedicated volunteer at her grandmother’s nursing home and a tutor for struggling students, she aspires to pursue a career in the “helping professions” of medicine or medical research.
With this award, we celebrate Maggie’s achievements and remember Tori’s incredible legacy—how she lived, loved and inspired others to serve.
