The Winter Park Health Foundation’s Funding Philosophy

In an effort to effect long-term change, invest its resources strategically, and enhance community health, the Winter Park Health Foundation Board of Trustees has identified three focus areas to help fulfill its mission—Children & Youth, Community Health and Older Adults.

Foundation Trustees serve on work groups planning the Foundation’s work within each focus area.  Assisting them with this work are community members who are invited to work with the Trustees and Foundation staff to determine goals and priorities.  The community representatives serve as valued and active members of the work groups and are selected for their focus area expertise and dedication.

In all that it does, the Foundation seeks best practices and evidence-based strategies to address the needs it identifies. Then, the Foundation initiates strategic alliances with other area nonprofit organizations to initiate projects, develop programs and provide services.

The Foundation does not routinely accept unsolicited grant applications.  However, from time to time, the Foundation will issue specific calls for proposals.  For more information, or to contact the Foundation about an organization or program that addresses one of our focus areas, please email the appropriate program staff person:
