On a beautiful Friday morning in December, the Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) presented AdventHealth Winter Park with two checks totaling $156,975 to fund continued learning for nurses in 2026.
The grant dollars, contributed via the Nowers and Brunoehler Scholarship Funds, will support nurses and nursing leaders with education, training, and professional development opportunities.
It is an annual contribution that WPHF has made for 25 years to strengthen the hospital’s nursing workforce.
“For many of these nurses, balancing long days caring for others while pursuing additional education is incredibly challenging,” said Nicholas Abrahams, WPHF President and CEO. “Without this funding, many would not be able to continue their journey. It’s meaningful to know that our support helps ease that burden and allows them to focus on growing their skills while continuing to provide exceptional care to their patients.”
The money supports nurses through several key pathways, including individual scholarships for advanced degrees and specialty training, a local leadership conference, recognition and support for nurse preceptors, and regular forums that keep nurses informed and connected.
By removing financial and professional barriers, WPHF helps nurses focus on what matters most—providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients, while also taking good care of themselves.
