A New Destination for Wellness
The new Center for Health & Wellbeing under construction in Winter Park was recently featured in Surviving & Thriving, a quarterly television special that airs exclusively in Central Florida on WESH-TV/Channel 2.
Produced by Growing Bolder, Surviving & Thriving is a program filled with hope, inspiration and possibility that shines a spotlight on those who refused to give in when confronted with the kinds of challenges nearly every family faces. From cancer to cardiac disease; the loss of a spouse to the loss of a job, Surviving & Thriving is about standing up and fighting for all that life has to offer and in some cases, for life itself. Nominated for Emmy Awards in its first three seasons, Surviving & Thriving is hosted by three-time cancer survivor Wendy Chioji and WESH-TV’s Jim Payne, with reports from Marc Middleton, Bill Shafer and Secily Wilson.
In the August episode of Surviving & Thriving, Chioji highlighted the new Center for Health & Wellbeing as a special place where residents will find a unique collection of programs, services and resources to support healthy living and health improvement. The Center for Health & Wellbeing is currently under construction and set for opening late 2018. The complex dedicated to health and wellbeing will provide a new home for the Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center, as well as new programs and experts in wellness, fitness and medicine
