Eatonville CRA Project to Receive Award

The Eatonville Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Capacity Building Project has been selected for an American Planning Association Florida Award of Merit in the Grassroots Initiatives category. UCF Institute of Government contracted with GAI Consultants Inc. for the work.  GAI will receive the award at the annual Planning Association conference in September.

Members of the Healthy Eatonville Team served as advocates for healthy community design at community visioning workshops.

The Eatonville CRA Capacity Building Project was supported by a grant from the Winter Park Health Foundation enabling technical assistance and planning expertise for the Eatonville Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).  The grant also supported the community input process toward the development and approval of a new CRA master plan for the Town, incorporating principles of healthy community design and laying the groundwork to ensure Eatonville continues to be a walkable community in the future. The CRA gathered input from residents during four community workshops involving over 150 residents. The Town of Eatonville citizens approved a new town charter during their general election in December 2016.
