WPHF Joins Other Florida Funders to Raise Awareness of Aging Issues

A $30,000 grant from Grantmakers in Aging, matched by a grant from the Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) and other funders from around the state, will enable the Florida Philanthropic Network to engage a variety of Florida funders in education and awareness activities designed to increase grant making focused specifically on aging.

WPHF will work with Allegany Franciscan Ministries, The Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida, the Health Foundation of South Florida, and Quantum Foundation in this two-year effort which will include workshops, forums and other education programs in Jacksonville, Orlando/Winter Park, Tampa Bay, West Palm Beach and Miami.

The planning and promotion of these activities will include efforts to educate funders not currently involved in funding aging issues on the need and importance of supporting projects and programs related to aging in Florida, given the state’s  demographics.  The Grantmakers in Aging award was matched by equal contributions from those foundations listed above.
