Winter Park Health Foundation Seeks Great Ideas for Making Eatonville, Maitland, and Winter Park the Healthiest Communities in Florida
According to Dr. Deborah Cohen, co-author of the book Prescription for a Healthy Nation, a New Approach to Improving Our Lives by Fixing Our Everyday World, it is not enough to take personal responsibility for one's own action, but that one also has to work for changes in society.
Using that premise as a springboard for action and grantmaking, the WPHF will host three identical workshops on November 15 and 16 to stimulate ideas that will improve the health of the Foundation's three targeted communities: Eatonville, Maitland, and Winter Park.
This new and exciting initiative, Think. Act. Be. Healthy Communities, focuses on creating safer, healthier, more active living for residents in these areas. Residents as well as organizations that work in Eatonville, Maitland, and Winter Park are invited to attend the workshops to share ideas, to hear Dr. Cohen's unique perspective, and to submit ideas that could result in grants from the WPHF.
