Back to School Health Fair Hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation
The Winter Park Health Foundation is hosting its first Back to School Health Fair from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 29 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at Glenridge Middle School. The event, for students in need attending schools in the Winter Park Consortium, which includes Winter Park High and its 11 elementary and middle feeder schools, is designed to make sure kids are ready for school and off to a healthy start. It will feature free school physicals and immunizations, as well as information from nutrition and exercise experts. The Fair also will give families the opportunity to learn more about the programs within the foundation’s Coordinated Youth Initiative, including the CHILL Counselors, School Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Healthy School Team programs.
The Back to School health fair also will feature health-oriented booths staffed by a variety of venders, including the Whole Foods Market, Crystal Springs Water, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the American Lung Association, the Central Florida YMCA, PCAN, Florida on the Move and members of the Coordinated Youth Initiative.
The Orange County Health Department is assisting with supplies and immunizations.

The schools included in the Winter Park Consortium are Aloma, Audubon Park, Brookshire, Cheney, Dommerich, Hungerford, Killarney, Lake Sybelia and Lakemont elementary schools; Glenridge and Maitland middle schools and the Winter Park 9th Grade Center and Winter Park High School.
