An Invitation from the
Winter Park Health Foundation

You are invited to help make Eatonville, Maitland, and Winter Park the healthiest places to live in Florida.

You are invited to share ideas that will improve the health of our community – specifically, ideas that promote healthy eating, encourage physical activity and reduce the use of tobacco products. Your attendance at an upcoming workshop could help bring resources to implement your idea in your community, organization, neighborhood, place of worship, school, or workplace through grants from the Winter Park Health Foundation.

You are invited to attend one of three identical workshops (see list on the right) to hear about this exciting opportunity and to hear from a nationally renowned speaker, Dr. Deborah Cohen, who believes it is not enough to take personal responsibility for our own actions—we also have to work for changes in society that make it easier for everyone to stay healthy.  Dr. Cohen is the co-author of the book Prescription for a Healthy Nation, a New Approach to Improving Our Lives by Fixing Our Everyday World.

You are invited to select the workshop that fits your schedule. Reserve your seat today as seating is limited! All workshops will be held at the Winter Park Health Foundation.  Click here to RSVP

Borrowing from the concepts outlined in Prescription for a Healthy Nation, the Winter Park Health Foundation is focused on supporting, promoting and funding efforts that can have lasting impact on the healthscape of Eatonville, Maitland, and Winter Park and will support and influence healthy behavior. The Foundation believes that you have great ideas for making your community a healthier place to live and work and collectively we can truly impact the health of our communities.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Deborah Cohen.

Deborah Cohen, MD, is a researcher in the area of the built environment and health. She is Board Certified in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and currently is a Senior Natural Scientist at the RAND Corporation. A member of several national advisory panels, Dr. Cohen was a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Brazil, and is the Principal Investigator of several grants to assess how local neighborhoods influence physical activity and dietary behaviors.
