WPHF Leader Named Citizen of Year

On Friday, January 29, 2016, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Awards Celebration.  The evening is a tribute to the members and volunteers who make the Winter Park community so remarkable.

“The Membership Awards Celebration is an opportunity for us to pause and reflect on the previous year,” said Patrick Chapin, President/CEO of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. “The highlight of the evening is recognizing the members and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the Chamber and the community.”

The evening will honor Patty Maddox, President/CEO of the Winter Park Health Foundation, as the recipient of the 2016 Lydia Gardner Citizen of the Year Award. The award was instituted in 1985 as an opportunity for the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce to recognize an outstanding member of the community whose leadership and service has made a significant impact to the economic, educational and/or civic well-being of the area.  In 2013, the award was renamed posthumously to honor Lydia Gardner for her leadership, passion and public service.

The event will also recognize Chamber members and volunteers in the following categories: Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Chairman of the Year, Community Organization of the Year, Winter Park Champion of the Year and Chamber Hero.
